A peer-reviewed article is a scholarly paper that has been reviewed by independent experts in the same field before it is published. The peer-review process involves several steps:

  1. Submission: The author submits their manuscript to a journal.
  2. Initial Screening: The journal editor conducts a preliminary review to check if the manuscript fits the journal’s scope and meets basic quality standards.
  3. Peer Review: The editor sends the manuscript to several experts (peers) in the field. These reviewers evaluate the paper's methodology, accuracy, relevance, and contribution to the field.
  4. Reviewer Feedback: Reviewers provide feedback and recommend one of the following: acceptance, revision, or rejection.
  5. Revision: If revisions are recommended, the author makes the necessary changes and resubmits the manuscript.
  6. Final Decision: The editor makes a final decision based on the reviewers' feedback and the revised manuscript.

This process helps ensure the quality, accuracy, and credibility of the published research. Peer-reviewed articles are considered highly reliable sources of scientific information.
