Worldcat Discovery is our online library catalog. Searching in Worldcat using a Basic or Advanced search will allow you to find a wide range of both print and online materials. (For more information on how to search Worldcat, see the Tutorials page of this guide.)
Sometimes, individual databases are more useful when you are looking for information in a specific subject area (examples: nursing or health sciences, religion, history) because they will only find information in the subjects covered in the database. Your results will be a little more narrow, but they may be more specific to your research needs.) The other great thing about subject-specific databases is that they keyword suggestions and filtering options specific to their subject. For example, a health sciences or nursing database might allow you to limit your search to information about patients in a specific age group.
Hints:
When searching for a woman mentioned in the bible, try her given name as it is written in the bible and any variations of that name. Also consider keywords associated with her story in the bible.
- Example: instead of searching for the Book of Judges, try Deborah AND prophet*
